Providence Asset Group welcomes three new Non-Executive Directors to Board, strengthens Executive Team

  • Providence Asset Group strengthens Executive Team with three new major appointments

Providence Asset Group, a leading clean technology investment firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Non-Executive Directors to its Board.

With extensive industry experience, Trevor Armstrong, Simon Corbell and Ted Surette will further support Providence Asset Group’s strategic priorities.

Trevor Armstrong has over 30 years’ experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors and has previously held various senior executive roles including Interim CEO at Ausgrid. He is currently Chairman of CIGRE Australia Pty Ltd and advisory member of UNSW Dean’s Engineering Board.

Simon Corbell brings more than two decades of senior experience in public policy leadership, governance, and program implementation to the Board. He was previously the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Energy of the Australian Capital Territory and held the role of Victorian Renewable Energy Advocate.

Ted Surette brings 33 years of experience with KPMG’s Australian, Canadian and Luxembourg practices in governance, managerial and client leadership roles. He was formerly a senior consulting partner and the Global Sector Head – Power & Utilities for KPMG from 2018 to 2021 with responsibility for the firm’s services to clients in energy transition.

The Company also welcomes three new members to the Executive Team as it extends it strategic goals for responsible, sustainable and ethical investment in clean technology.

Hamish Wall joins Providence Asset Group as Head of Operations, with a unique combination of 20 years’ experience in renewable energy project development, infrastructure delivery and start-up ventures. Prior to joining Providence, Hamish spent 7 years at Lendlease in various senior roles, most recently General Manager – Energy and Technology. Hamish also founded NextGen Solutions, and later established development company Solmessis, where as CEO he delivered the first large-scale solar project in QLD.

Natalie Brooke has been appointed as Providence Asset Group’s Head of Investor Relations and Communications with over 16 years’ experience in institutional funds management and services. Prior to joining Providence Asset Group, Natalie was the General Manager of Marketing and Communications for QIC (Queensland Investment Corporation).

Stephen Craen joins Providence Asset Group as Head of Debt Capital Markets with over 25 years’ experience in energy finance. Prior to joining Providence Asset Group, Stephen was co-Head of Societe Generale’s Energy Team for Europe, Africa and the Middle East where he advised clients on raising over USD30 billion in multi-sourced project finance debt for some of the world’s largest and most innovative projects.
